Do you ever scroll through Reddit for a distraction? I do.
People post pictures, solicit advise, share anecdotes.
Tidbits from around the world make amusing and thoughtful reading.
Lately, I’ve been noticing in comments three reoccurring sayings. Specifically:
No is a complete sentence.
Don’t set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.
These sayings make sense and they are true, does that make them truisms? Why is it human nature to ignore these facts? Is it to avoid immediate interpersonal conflict, only to reap delayed trauma?
I’ll ponder away. The truth is out there.
