I had a lazy Sunday planned out: reading and responding to slices, calling a friend, and finishing reading a book.
I planned to head to Costco for the end of the day – it’d be quieter and have less stimulation for my brain. Throughout the day I jotted down a list of what I wanted to pick up. It has been months since I’ve been and there were a few staples to pick up.
Cue late afternoon. Clock on wall says 4:15 pm. Time to get out the door. Enough time to drive there and be done by 6 pm closing.
Grab my phone en route out door. Screen comes awake and states it is 5:16 pm. I forgot to change the clock on the wall for Daylight Savings time. I guess I’m not going to Costco today.
Whoops.
Daylight Savings Time ruins everything for weeks. We had total chaos resulting from it today.

I hate Daylight Savings Time! I was so off track every time I looked at the clock yesterday! Sorry you missed out on your Costco trip.

It certainly was a blip on the day. Our province has voted to abolish it. We are just waiting for government approval of all the states along the west coast to make the change.

The change to DST seems to wreak havoc in all kinds of places. They changed the clocks at school for the last day before our spring break because the change occurred over break. It threw us off all day. I love the way the tension built through your slice.

How confusing for the students to have the wrong time for the entire day.
Thanks for your feedback 😊

Oh no! At least you realized before you drove all the way there!

Yes, that would have been very annoying.

Oh no, the highs and lows of daylight saving (currently living in a state in Australia that doesn’t have it, very reassuring!)

I wonder how many other people did this too! Luckily we are on break this week, so we have a week to adjust to this silly time change.

Daylight Saving Time has always intrigued me. We don’t have it in our part of the world, so it’s always been something of a mystery. Sounds like quite a hassle.

Thanks for sharing, Saba. We are continents away! I have never travelled to the Middle East. (One day I hope to make my way to Jordan).

This sounds like something that I would do! Adjusting to Daylight Savings is awful. I have been on the struggle bus all day.

I love having been to Costco, but I will use every excuse possible not to have to actually go. This is as good of an excuse as any.

I went to Costco today and was glad I went. I stocked up on some staples which will last for a long time. But the bill. Ouch!

Daylight Savings Time is a trickster, but I bet you weren’t too disappointed. When the gang was home, I used to go to Costco’s periodically. I can’t say it was my favorite outing.
