A Day in Six Word Memoirs

Woke up much too early, again.

Read, read an abundance of Slices.

Early morning commute is not bad.

Joy exists in hubbub of classroom.

Collegiality plus cooperation equals strong team.

Treating self to take-out lunch is nourishing.

Cat pukes on carpet, oh joy.

Pilates aligns and invigorates body. Feels good!

Reading in bed closes the day.

Eyes heavy.Words waver. Good night.

  1. Ah, the joys of finding cat puke in random places. It’s always a nice surprise, right?? 😒

I have a hard time reading at night because it makes me sleepy and those words are always wavering.

    How is your head feeling?

    1. It is wobbly – the past two weeks I have done work hardening by going into a friend’s classroom for some mornings. The visual stimuli on the wall coupled with the stereophonic sounds of a school make my brain’s neurons unhappy. Not sure when I’ll be able to return to my classroom. . . Sigh.
Thanks for asking and checking in.

  2. I love this idea. I’ve done 6 word memoirs in workshops and with students, but never a collection of them. So cool. I shall try it out one day. You cover a whole lot of topics in a small space. Well done.

  3. This six-word progression of your day is so fun! I’m going to try it with my teen writers tomorrow, ask them to document a day in their life in a similar fashion. Totally agree with “Reading in bed closes the day.”
