Just today
My city, Vancouver, declared a state of emergency
Just today
My Prime Minister advises all Canadians to stay home.
Just today
My province, British Columbia, declared a state of emergency.
But
I headed out to see my physiotherapist,
a specialist,
that helps to keep my chronic pain in check.
She is a lifeline.
Grateful that I was able to see her today. Tomorrow she suspends service.
Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
I like the repetition of Just Today. I might have to model that format in a poem also.
Thanks,

I like the starkness of this piece. Glad you were able to get out to see your physiotherapist. There’s an eerie feeling of doing something just before it shuts down. Your poem evoked that for me.

I like the repetition of the line Just today… It added an eeriness to your piece. A sign of the times.
